Buku Sayisa #1 - Filter - Natural Coffee
Weights | 1kg, 250g |
---|
We were drawn to Buku Sayisa due to it being grown at high altitudes. This elevation gives the coffee layers of complexity and delicate floral notes that we just could not resist.
Situated in one of the highest growing areas of Ethiopia, the village of Buku Sayisa sits at 2000 - 2550 masl in the district of Hambela Wamena within the Guji zone. The area is made up of 430 small farms which surround the village. Farmers in Ethiopia will produce coffee among other crops. The farmers carry their harvests down from the mountains to the mill by horse due to the uneven topography of the land.
This lot is made up of Wolisho Dega, an ancient Ethiopian variety. It has been lovingly dried on raised African drying beds which are found throughout the village.
