Weights | 1kg, 250g |
---|
The direct translation of Pueblo Sin Prisa is ‘town in no hurry’. An ethos the people of the town of Pijao live by. Located in the Quindio department of Colombia, the inhabitants of the area of Quindio are called Quimbaya Indians, and are known for passing on their respect for nature by farming in a sustainable manner.
This coffee is produced by of a selection of 80 farmers in the area surrounding Pijao. Here the farmers are paid per “carga”. A carga of coffee is 125kg, the reason for this measurement is that it is pretty much the full amount a mule can carry! We are delighted to know that the farmers growing this coffee are being paid 43% more than the market price for Colombian coffee today.
Quindio as a growing region produces 10% of Colombia’s coffee, we chose this coffee for it’s classic flavour profile and to support the smaller producers of this area.
