Dorian Felipe Osorio’s farm is called La Brisa and is located in a sub region of Tarqui called Triunfo. We met him briefly in 2019 and we bought one of his coffees last year named Vista Hermosa.

Dorian like most producers in Tarqui grows Variedad Colombia and processes all coffee on the farm. The coffee is fully washed and then pulped and fermented for up to 36 hours before getting washed once again. The coffee is then dried in a parabolic dryer (essentially a small greenhouse) and here it will stay for up to 20 days or until the moisture content reaches 11%. This seasons harvest was tiny so we only have a very small quantity of coffee from Dorian.

The production is very small and so each lot can be wildly different. This is why we adore coffees from this region for us, it’s a snapshot of land and harvest.

The payment structure is the same as it is with Rolando Cordoba for this years coffee. 2 million Colombian pesos per Carga (125kg) to the producer, just under twice the internal price for coffee in Colombia.
