Our first release from Burundi this season and we start with a beauty. Nimu Silas is a peaberry lot made from four washing stations in the Kayanza province. The washing stations are, Buziraguhindwa, Mbiriza, Sehe and Shembati and the quality manager for all four is called Nimu Silas.
Nimu Silas works alongside the owner Salum Ramadhan who founded his washing stations in 2012. Peaberries occur naturally and are only discovered during milling where they fall through the screens as under sized beans.
The cup quality is really high and Salum and the farmers benefit from what would often be sold as undergrade coffee. When we purchased it we had no idea what it was only that it was the most delicious coffee ever!
