La Palma - Filter - Washed Coffee

This lot was produced by ten smallholder farmers living near the town of La Palma in the Cajamarca region of Peru. The farmers all produce around six bags of coffee a year, and are growing it in a fully organic manner. In addition their coffee is fully shade grown and processed in an identical way to their neighbour to create a consistent lot.

The farmers are members of the Santuario Association of Coffee Producers who’s main objective is to work with small farmers to promote their coffees and improve quality. The association also offers technical field assistance, where individuals with agricultural expertise spend time with the farmers advising on soil fertility, cultivation techniques, harvesting and processing.

We are really excited to have this coffee in the roastery again and we feel the quality has improved since last year. We hope this trend continues into the next harvest.
