Buziraguhindwa Manini - Espresso -Washed Coffee

Weights1kg, 250g

Buziraguhindwa is a communal washing station in the high altitudes of Kayanza province, Muruta commune. This is lot, Manini #1, consisting of local heirloom (mainly varieties of Bourbon) is made up of around 500 smallholder farmers.

The name Manini refers to the hill from where the coffee grows. Producer, Salume Ramadahn believes every region has it’s own unique flavour attrib- utes due to the differences in soil, altitude, sun exposure and climate. Because of this, Salume makes sure daily pickings of cherries are separated depending on where they are grown and how they are being processed - thus making it possible to distinguish different micro lots based on the different flavour profiles.

Salume’s manager Nimu Silas is on hand to ensure cherry quality is high and strict protocols are kept during processing. This is the third and final Burundi in our offering this season. We had the natural process from Buziraguhindwa and we still have the peaberry lot named after the manager himself Nimu Silas.
