Tarqui Collective - Filter - Washed Coffee

We are delighted to be roasting this stunning coffee, from the producers of Tarqui in Huila, Colombia. This is the second year we have visited Tarqui to source coffee and this year we wanted to focus not just on competition lots, but coffees outside of the competition as well.

Farms in Tarqui range from 1-4 hectares and so harvests are quite small, we want to celebrate their individual lots when we can however their is also great benefits in blending the lots that are too small to sell individually to create a community blend. This has allowed us to purchase more volume from the region and community as a whole, adding greater impact on those living and working in the area. As is the norm for this region all picking, processing and drying is carried out on each individual farm. The dried coffee (parchment) is then taken to the town’s drop off point where is must pass strict quality tests and cup above 86 points to be considered for the blend.
