Fazenda Pântano is owned by the Naimeg family group, a coffee company
founded in 1965 by Gerson Naimeg. Gerson had previously worked as
a coffee trader and bought his first piece of land in 1962 and began
establishing his company focused on the highest quality coffee which
today has farms covering 394 hectares! As well as the Yellow Catuai that
went into this lot Fazenda Pântano grows Mundo Novo, Acacia Cerrado,
Rubi, Paraiso and Catucai.
Catuai were originally cultivated by the Instituto Agronomico of Sao Paulo State in Campinas by crossing Mundo Novo and Caturra varieties. Catuai coffees are widely cultivated across Brazil, they grow really well there and are highly productive as well as having really good cup potential.
Cerrado Mineiro is a world recognised region for high-quality coffee producing and has been a Protected Geopgraphical Indication since 2005, the first ever of its kind in Brazil. This region is known for its well defined seasons and quality of coffee.
We love Brazilian coffees, and it’s been really nice this year to have
released quite a few particularly great ones like this! If you’re a fan of
smooth sweet, lower acidity coffees Brazil is always a good place to go
looking.
