Natália Moreira Brito and André Luíz Garcia own and operate the 90 hectare Jaguara farm near São João del Rei, an area traditionally associated with gold mining. It’s high altitudes (for Brazil), mountainous terrain and rich volcanic soils provide ideal conditions for coffee farming. We are big fans of their work, and we source our Circles espresso from here as well as buying multiple microlots throughout the year.

André’s background as an agronomist and researcher has heavily informed the way Jaguara operates, and placed sustainable practices front and centre of all their work. They utilise environmentally friendly technology, implementing weed management, pruning and other practices. Their farm’s nutrient balance is supplied by organic compounds associated with rock minerals.

Peaberries are a natural mutation found in every coffee varietal, where only one seed, or bean, develops inside the cherry (as opposed to two). This natural peaberry is a real easy-drinker, silky and chocolatey.
